Our first Halloween in Salt Lake. The day was remarkably beautiful. Warmer than anticipated. And no snow on the ground.
We even went Trick-or-Treating without jackets!
I may have mourned Fall too early. It returned in shining glory this week.
Bubble-wrapped stairs! How cool is that? The popping was a bit unnerving. Not to mention the battery-powered bats, scary music and smoke machine. Can you sense the girls’ trepidation?

After thoughtfully considering our options, we decided that with a fifty fifty chance of being correct we would guess the twins. The hats threw us off, but after carefully reviewing the picture we have come to the conclusion that Spencer is on the left and Gordon is on the right. 🙂 We think your family is adorable!!! Please call us so we can come and play!

Okay – Thanks for your vote M & T. I'll tell you end of the week if you're correct. I know. 50/50 chance – that's decent odds, right? Worth a shot! You guys can come and hang any time!

Wonderful Halloween post!! Great pictures and I am with you about getting rid of the candy. I am such a rotten mother that I made, encouraged, required, nudged my children to donate their Halloween candy to a local charity. They did so and I am very glad to have it out of my house!!
catharvy
Cris – Donate to a local charity?? That sounds perfect. Can you tell me where, who and how?
Marci
I would have to say that Spencer is on the left and Gordy on the right. I love the hats and the girls looked wonderful in their costumes. Love you guys.
Becca
I'm thinking Gordy on the left and Spencer on the right. But others have guessed the opposite. So, I sort of have my doubts. But that was my first instinct guess.

This from my dear friend Ellen in FL:
Gordon is on the left and Spencer is on the right in their Halloween caps.
No need to ship candy, because it's expensive. Just let me know if I'm right. This decision was made only after exhaustive research and note taking. I know they are identical, but at this stage I can see differences. Maybe when they get older, it won't be noticeable.
The picture of Eliza with the earrings and flat-ironed hair was exquisite. Oh, Cath…..it's like seeing into the future.
I loved watching Doug's Leaf Monster video because I got to hear the girls' voices and see them moving. Keep in mind that I've never actually met even Eliza.
Was in Orlando for Halloween and spending those 2 weeks totally immersed in mother and baby has thrown my sense of time off a bit.
Love to all,
Ellen

Bec and Marci – thanks for your votes… truth to be unveiled Sunday.
And Ellen – I just realized you HAVEN'T actually met Eliza! Has it really been that long!? We're due for a rendezvous somewhere! Are you coming west any time soon?
Cristine
It's called PJ's Forgotten Children. They serve children of parents with mental illness. They need candy for their Christmas stockings. My neighbor is the president and has been for years. They truly do a good and compassionate work. I will email you her contact info if you would like to pass your candy along.

Cath- Loved the costumes. Loved the video. Doug cracks me up! I totally remember that Thriller dance. Whenever that video came on (and it seemed to be on a lot this Halloween), Sam and I just stared at the television. Transfixed.
Looks like you guys are having a ton of fun.
catharvy
Brodi – I scoured my old pics for the one of us in costume for Thriller – sitting in your kitchen area. It's on our wedding video but I couldn't find it to scan in. We were great zombies! As for MJ – he IS mesmerizing. Pretty much the King in his day. Maybe for our 20 year reunion – we can take the stage and pull out our Thriller moves. Hah!

Those princesses are so darling and the boys, priceless, but I couldn't tell you who's who yet! I need to meet them first.

Too late for the game. Life's got me in slow motion. Your post made me miss you even more today. Going out to trick or treat just wasn't as fun without your girls. You are the perfect autumn time friend. I want to call you to go to the community center and you just can't come over anymore! Ugh. Miss you.

PS – Aimee is doing AMAZING!!!
