Dozens of them. Golden yellow trumpets. Lifting chins to the morning sun.
For a whole week daffodils have graced our mantle, tables, counters, and dressers. Doug buys them each year through the American Cancer Society fundraiser, Daffodil Days. A simple, beautiful way to honor those whose lives have been touched by cancer.

I miss daffodils. Living in a perpetual summer where flowers are always blossoming, they kind of lose their wonder, though my kids do pick up the fallen blossoms every time they go to the park and give them to me. There is something about seeing those first daffodils, sometimes breaking out of snow, that is so special and hopeful. I'm grateful you shared these gorgeous pictures of them, so I can have a little "spring" too.

Our daffodils bloomed a few weeks ahead due to unseasonably warm temps. Ours are waning and I wish they lasted longer.
I used to buy daffodils in school – our health careers club sold them in high school and it was fun to buy each other a flower, and even more thrilling when a boy gave you one. In college I bought my flowers from a dear sweet gentleman who has since passed away from the insidious disease these flowers are sold for. I think the last time I bought a bunch was more than a decade ago when I worked for the county.
Thank you for reminding me of the daffodils – next year, I'll start buying bunches again. My MIL is a 2 year survivor of breast cancer and hubby's cousin is a one year survivor of thyroid cancer. I don't want to forget again.

I have daffodils outside my window now and I will look at them differently. Love you, Cath.

What a very sweet thing. Cath, you have such a big heart. You care so deeply for others. I cannot even begin to understand the battle of cancer and how much it changes a family. Sending you love.

Just wanted to leave an update here on Liz's little Michael. He is still recovering from surgery but after a follow-up MRI, it was determined the surgeon removed all portions of the tumor. Truly remarkable. I continue to be inspired by Liz's family and their sweet, humble faith.
