I am happy today.
I’m happy most days – but today the world feels warm and full, like it’s hatching, coming out because it can’t contain itself any longer. Winter is spent. The cold has run its long course and every corner is splitting with color, splintering dirt and twigs, cracking open with light.
I feel as if I’m spinning at a slightly slower pace and everyone is smiling easy. The crabapple tree is in full bloom.
Recently I asked Ali, “Who’s your best friend?”
Sarah
Yeah for diminished biting! 🙂
I am SO ready for spring also…too much rain here, but the blossoms are beginning to burst.

"My eyes are sharper, my ears larger, and my heart more grateful when we've been apart so long."
I relate very much to every word you wrote.
I'm so glad spring has finally come for you!! I've heard about the teasing and taunting of the weather this year in Utah. There's nothing quite so rejuvenating as springtime blooms and blossoms, is there.
Becca
Jim and Renae are amazing, no wonder Doug is so incredible himself. What an amazing father. You two make such a wonderful pair. Happy day! Love happy days!
Leslie
Thank you for making my day brighter. Isn't it fun when sharing the simple things in life with the people we love brings the greatest joy.
Mimi
Oh how I love your writing and you! I wish you were coming to Idaho next week and long to see you in real life. Someday. I will be in Utah sometime in July – I may just have to drop by with my own crazy brood.
Nice to see you going from overwhelmed to happy – I sometimes do that multiple times a day.

Thank you, Cath, for your insights and support and love. Thanks for sharing your tulips.
Anne Marie
Delightful pictures and thoughts. Happy spring to you! So happy that your huband is around more right now. I love that expression on your daughter's face as she's holding her face. Darling!

Sarah – Yes – less biting is always good. You should see some of the marks those boys have left on each other! Geesh! Glad Spring is coming your way too. xo
Tricia – I know you can relate. Your pictures of spring in VA were breathtaking. Hope you are well!
Bec – I know. Doug comes from great stock. I adore his parents, as you can tell.
Leslie – "the simple things in life with the people we love" – so beautiful. And so right.
Mimi – Boo hoo. Me too! I'm just banking on another reunion the following year. I can hardly stand to think of you all together! Love you! And please, if you're in UT in July – drop by and bring the whole K-clan. I would love to see your beautiful children.
Mel – I admire you greatly. I'm sorry it's been hard lately. Deb and I were just talking about how much we love you. You're still on my prayer list.
Anne Marie – Having Doug around makes all the difference. Mimi was right. I went from "overwhelmed" to "happy" in a week. But it's so true – emotions as a mother can change by the minute. Happy Spring to you too my friend!
Michelle
so, so much to love in this post. It made me happy too. And let's add to that happiness by hitting the trail tomorrow, eh?
Shells
Cath – promise me that when that crabapple tree is full of apples, you pick a bunch and either make, or have someone you know make, crabapple jelly. We are really going to miss our crabapple tree here! Love all the pics, you are all looking so happy.
Meesh
I love that photo of all 5 of them! What an amazing little family you have 🙂 Is that Lettie Romney in your joy school?
LizzyP
Love the pink of those crabapple blossoms. And Sami does, too–her jacket is the same color.
Mmmm. Spring is so delicious to the soul.

Michelle – loved running the canyon with you. xo
Shells – I can't remember if you sent me a recipe for that jelly. Would you mind sending it again?? We'll try it. Oughta use those crabapples for something! Can't believe your winding down.
Meesh – Yes, that's Lettie. How do you know the Romneys?
Liz – So delicious.
