Last Sunday we spoke in Church to the congregation (or “Ward” in LDS terms) we have come to love so very much. Both Doug and I struggled to maintain composure as we expressed gratitude for the many kindnesses shown to our family. I will post some of our remarks later so you can read a bit of what we said and why it breaks our hearts to leave our Virginia family (which includes our friends within and without our church).
Finally, by 11PM MT, I put the girls to bed at my parents’ house and crashed onto the couch. It was an eventful few days. (Renae – thank you for being “Super Grandma” and getting us through this whole experience . You deserve a Purple Heart!)
This has comforted me as I remember our little family will be alright, as long as we are together. Home for me, is where Doug and my girls are. And no matter where we are – you (our Virginia friends) will remain a part of our life. You will be here with us – always.
It was wonderful seeing as many of you as we could before we left. Unfortunately, I didn’t have the presence of mind to snap photos of all of you. And some of you we were unable to see, but we want you to know we love you and remain grateful for your influence in our lives.
Think of you, pray for you
And when another day is through
I’ll still be friends with you”

Cath, we are so sad that we were not able to see you guys and give you a hug before you left. We have been sick sick sick. So it was for the best. Abbey said to me “why are my friends moving, Mom? When do we get to move somewhere?” Sad. I’m grateful you all arrived safely and hope that you enjoy your new home and life in SLC. We love you guys. Please email me your new addy so we can get a Christmas card out to you.
much love, Heather

You know, while we were living in CT I thought about moving back to Utah all the time-I didn’t realize how great I had it out there. Now that we’re back here, I think about moving back to CT all the time. It is amazing the bonds you make when you’re living away from family, I really miss my CT family and think about them ALL the time. I hope you guys are happy out here and that you get to see some your VA family often!

Goodbye you good kids. Haven’t seen you for quite some time, but it doesn’t seem like it. It seems like yesterday we were chatting and laughing. Your blog is fun. I love seeing the girls. They are adorable.
I’m glad you made it to Utah safe and sound. We may see you there. Who knows! Catherine you are truly a special girl and one that I am so happy I got to know. Thanks for your special spirit and example.
Love you guys,
Bo & Pam Montgomery
You are so missed here! Your wonderful spirit and beautiful smile is still warm in our hearts! Can’t wait to go to UT and see the girls a foot taller, and you all adjusted and with a new Ward family that gets the chance to be with all of you! And realize for themselves how amazing you are! How lucky are they!
Much LOVE!
Pam.

I am trying to find my good friend, Pam Montgomery. You have changed your email from 15 years ago.:) I’ve been thinking about you and the Summer we spent together in 2002. I know this blog entry is forever old, but if there is a way of contacting my sweet friend, Pam, I would appreciate any and all help!!
